SELF-CARE AND SELF-LOVE: A Commitment to Ourselves
Loving our bodies is much like nurturing any meaningful relationship.

Self-Care and Self-Love: A Commitment to Ourselves

Taking care of ourselves requires dedication, commitment, and discipline. It is the choice to consistently show up for ourselves each day, even on the days when it feels difficult or inconvenient.
The relationship we have with ourselves directly and indirectly mirrors the relationships we cultivate with others—our family, friends, partners, coworkers, and community. It reflects the choices we make and what we believe we are worthy of receiving and experiencing.
Today marks Day 2 of my journey toward self-care and self-love. The first day in gym was challenging. My body resisted the unfamiliar routine, but as the days passed, my body consciousness gradually began to adapt to the new activity.
As I moved, I became more aware of the prana—the life force, the breath, the oxygen surrounding my energetic field. It felt as though this life force was being carried by my red blood cells throughout my entire body. There was a sense of cellular aliveness, as if every cell was awakening and quietly rejoicing. My physical body, this sacred vehicle, felt nourished and alive. It was not merely exercising; it was enjoying the experience.
Our bodies are conscious living systems, composed of trillions of cells that continually regenerate, renew, and work together to sustain life. They are constantly supporting us, often without us even noticing.
The way we relate to our bodies reflects our sense of worthiness. It influences the food we choose to nourish ourselves with, the movement we allow ourselves to enjoy, the rest we permit ourselves to take, and the care we believe we deserve.
Loving our bodies is much like nurturing any meaningful relationship. It requires commitment to care for them as they change with age, dedication to support their health and well-being, and the discipline to keep showing up with kindness, even when motivation fades.
Perhaps self-love is not found in grand gestures, but in the quiet, consistent choices we make each day. Every nourishing meal, every mindful breath, every movement, and every act of care is a gentle reminder that we are worthy of the love we so often extend to others. No cheating and cheat day, please! lol
My body thanked me after today's activity.
